Sam Hall is the Managing Partner of Crivello, Nichols & Hall, S.C. and is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. His legal practice focuses on civil rights litigation, crisis management, government affairs, appellate advocacy and sports law. Given his experience and involvement in a wide variety of crisis incidents, Sam is regularly asked to speak to local, state and national organizations about crisis planning, crisis communications and leadership during high profile crisis incidents.
Sam is also an experienced sports attorney, with particular focus on college athlete revenue sharing and NIL on behalf of athletes. He also provides ongoing legal representation to athletic governing bodies, along with representing educational institutions and clubs in Title IX and SafeSport issues. Sam is also recognized as a leading attorney in anti-doping cases involving athletes and also trainers and veterinarians within the thoroughbred horse racing industry.
In 2019, Sam was invited to the White House and considered for appointment as a U.S. District Court judge and he received bipartisan support for nomination to the federal judiciary by both Senator Tammy Baldwin and Senator Ron Johnson. In 2020, Sam was honored by being named to the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list. Sam has been named to the Best Lawyers in America and currently holds the top “AV-Preeminent” peer and judicial ratings by Martindale-Hubbell. He has also been named to the Wisconsin Super Lawyers list several times.
In his limited free time, Sam moonlights as a thoroughbred race horse owner. Sam’s horses have successfully raced throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, including in the Breeders’ Cup World Championship.
